In a former 19th-century factory, reels of thread and weaving looms tell a story : that of a textile fibre, from raw material to finished product.
At the heart of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park, the museum bears witness to the flourishing textile industry that set the pace in the Thoré valley, in the south of the Tarn.
Housed in a former factory, the museum shows the various stages in the manufacture of a woollen cloth, a speciality of the valley, as well as the dyeing and knitting techniques that have made the reputation of the southern Tarn region. Spinning, weaving, finishing, dyeing: demonstrations which will plunge you into the heart of the golden age, when the noise of the shuttles punctuated the daily life of the village.
